Trivial Pursuit 60

'X' appeared as a child actor in the 'Bombay Talkies' blockbuster 'Kismet' (1943).

'X' always felt that Lord Shiva has blessed him. Lord Shiva is also known as 'Y', and years ago, Actress Shubha Khote once remarked that any of X's films where his character was named 'Y', always became a hit.

When 'X' was a child, he once saw a dream. In the dream, he was leaning against a street lamp-post at the side of a road. He saw a tall man wearing garlands exactly like Lord Shiva, coming towards him. Whoever came in the man's way, was blown to pieces. He came to 'X' and picked him up.

'X' woke up screaming. His aunt 'Bi Ma' also remembered the night and the scream, and she later told him that soon after that, he had fallen violently ill.

'X' remembered what Shubha Khote had said, as well as the dream, and started believing since then, that he was blessed by Lord Shiva.

Years later, one day, 'Dada Muni' (Ashok Kumar) saw X's receding hairline and said, "X, you are going bald." Then he came close to 'X' and with his ballpoint pen, marked a shape following the hairline. Its form looked like Lord Shiva’s weapon, the trident. He showed it to 'X' too.

'X' considered the name 'Y' to be lucky for him, and as a result, X's character was named 'Y' in as many as 19 films.

Identify 'X' and 'Y'.

Additional Trivia :
