the connect indeed is the film 'dil se'.

Pic A - Shekhar Kapur and Pic B - Ram Gopal Varma, who along with Mani Ratnam, had produced the film.

Pic C - Famous painter Manjit Bawa, who made a cameo appearance in the film.

Pic D - Spike Lee, famous Hollywood director. The first song from 'Dil Se', "Chaiyyan Chaiyyan", is also the opening song of Spike Lee's Hollywood movie 'Inside Man (2006), starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen.

E - The UK Top Ten Chart as on 28/08/1998.
'Dil Se' was released on 21/08/1998 and became the first Indian film to enter the UK Top 10 film chart, when it debuted on number 10 in the list.

  6. Rishi bhai just confirmed that Mani Ratnam, Shekhar Kapur and Ramgopal Varma, together had formed the banner 'India Talkies', under which 'Dil Se' was made.
Since it was a box office dud, it was the only film made under the banner and they did not collaborate on any other project.
    Thanx Rishi bhai :)
